Matthew joined JumpStart in 2016 and is focused on working with high potential early-stage tech startups seeking investment capital from the funds managed by JumpStart Ventures, helping them through the investment process, and he leads a team of Venture Partners that support and advise JumpStart Ventures’ portfolio companies from initial investment through their growth stage.

Matthew has 25+ years of tech startup founder/leadership, venture/private equity investing, and corporate innovation experience. Immediately prior to joining JumpStart, he was Vice President of Healthcare with BioEnterprise. His extensive hands-on tech startup experience includes: Facilicom (exit to WorldCom), TradeScape (exit to E*Trade), I-STAT (exit to Abbot Labs), Targe Energy and BioTronics, commercializing several technologies out of healthcare systems, and he has raised more than $125 million in venture capital. Mathew has executive innovation leadership and BOD experience with premier organizations including, UPMC, GNC, American Health Companies, and Deloitte Consulting. He has raised his own venture capital fund and worked as an operating partner/venture partner with several venture/private equity firms including JW Childs, IVW, TH Lee, Vestar Capital and Cerberus Capital Management. Matthew has proudly served his country as a decorated officer and combat aviator in the United States Air Force.

Matthew has received his Bachelor of Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business
